Position:
Tax Manager

Location:
Colorado Springs, Colorado or Mitchell, South Dakota

Salary:
$120,000 to $150,000 total compensation, with bonuses based on billables and efficiency


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with other Tax Managers and report directly to a Senior Tax Manager or Partner
  • Cultivate the firm's culture of excellence and high morale
  • Develop and implement goals, procedures, and policies in alignment with firm leadership
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of the Tax service line
  • Serve as an expert in the firm's core competencies or professional pursuits
  • Manage the Tax team and its processes, including tax planning, return preparation, and business consultation
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a positive experience
  • Review tax returns and provide expert guidance to clients
  • Manage a workload of Business Advisory Service engagements and tax-only projects
  • Resolve tax notices and other issues promptly and efficiently
  • Conduct research on complex tax matters and draft memos and conclusions
  • Train and lead fellow team members, fostering growth and development
  • Coordinate client-centric efforts with other teams within the firm
  • Perform general office duties as needed

Requirements:


  • Active CPA or EA with 5 years of complex tax experience, public accounting firm environment preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Familiarity with Thompson Reuters UltraTax preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Dedication to maintaining high-quality standards and client satisfaction

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
