Shift- 2nd/3rd

Position Summary

The Shift Manager will report to the Operations Manager and manage all back shift activities for the Dublin Plant.
This position will be the highest level of management on-site during back shift operations and therefore, is required to make solid judgements on the entire plant s operations.
Second/Third Shift

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding strategic expectations and goals for each operating department.
  • Responsible for ensuring that daily communications from Department Managers to Leads and Supervisors are understood and carried out as outlined by daily work instructions provided by managers in their respective area.
  • This position has responsibility to the entire plant and all departments individually to assist operators if help is needed with troubleshooting or handling any problem that may arise in their operating area.
    Whether it be personnel, operational and or a maintenance related issue, the Shift Manager will direct operations in making decisions that will result in the best solution for the problem at hand and take responsibility for organizing and prioritizing the time frame and manner by which each problem will be handled.
    Problems are prioritized by the way they will impact safety, team members, quality, cost and production if not tended to immediately.
  • Responsible for knowing, supporting and communicating plant health & safety goals, policies, and procedures to each shift.
    Ensures all incidents including environmental and near misses are properly reported, investigated and documented with preventive/corrective actions and employee statements provided.
    Ensures that the appropriate outside contacts are notified after hours pending the incident severity and situation.
  • Responsible for knowing and understanding the quality standards and expectations established by the plant s Quality Management System.
    Responsible for promoting and implementing quality standards and specifications as they pertain to each operating department.
  • Responsible for mentoring, training and developing shift leaders and team members for career progression, performance improvement and recognition purposes.
  • Responsible for promoting a positive work environment by being supportive of and knowledgeable about Company Philosophy, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Reviews and recommends to manager any measures to improve the department and areas to include but not limited to team member development, production methods, equipment, quality, safety, service and overall performance of the department.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree Preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent problem solving ability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all departments.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of computer including Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Ability to understand, support and enforce operational and technical policies.
  • A sense of urgency to act and area ownership is required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
